What is infrared light?
Infrared light is in the invisible spectrum of light. Research indicates that it can penetrate through skin and tissue and have a direct effect on denser bone structures. It is part of an emerging technology of light currently used in clinical and home settings around the globe. The use of light by the medical profession has been around for more than 20 years to reduce pain and increase circulation. The growing acceptance of light has become more popular as an alternative to traditional medical approaches.
Why does the In Light Wellness System™ use pulsed frequencies?
Pulsed wave forms appear to be more effective than non-pulsed, and those pulsed to the tissue resonance frequencies of Dr. Nogier's brilliant science are the most effective when working on the body. The pulsing light at Nogier frequencies, according to studies, seems to be more important than the wavelength (color) in the healing response for most conditions. Nogier's seven frequencies correspond to embryonic tissue origin based on his research with acupuncture points found in the ear.
Who is Light Therapy for?
InLight Medical LED light therapy systems™ can be used both professionally in a clinic and by people at home as part of their continuing therapy. Common pad designs between clinical and home units allow clients to receive the same benefits at home as in the clinic.
What about cross contamination in a clinical setting?
Placing the pad in an inexpensive off the shelf plastic bag (baggie) as a barrier is simple, easy and effective. Cling wrap is another easy way to protect the pads.
How is LED light different from lasers?
Light Emitting Diodes (LED's) are a form of light therapy that is a relatively recent outgrowth from the laser industry. LED’s are similar to lasers inasmuch as they have the same healing effects but differ in the way that the light energy is delivered. LED’s disperse light (red, blue or infrared) over a greater surface area; this tends to result in shorter overall treatment times for a given area than laser.
LED's are selected by wavelengths that are most beneficial to physiologic response. It is the light pulsed at specific wavelengths that produce the therapeutic effect, not the device that delivers it.

How do the ILM pads increase circulation?
The red and infrared light releases Nitric Oxide from the hemoglobin and surrounding tissue. Nitric oxide is a signaling molecule that is known to relax smooth muscle cells found in the arteries, veins, capillaries and lymph vessels. When these structures relax, they dilate the blood vessel, thus allowing increased circulation. See the LED animation video for more details.

What is the difference between blue, red, and infrared light?
Blue light has a penetrating depth of 2-3mm, red light has a penetrating depth of 8-10mm, and infrared light has a penetrating depth of 20-100mm.
What is ‘polychromatic’ light therapy?
Polychromatic light therapy means that more than one (1) light wavelength, or color, is used simultaneously. In Light Wellness Systems™ uses at least least two (2) different light wavelengths in every pad.
What does light therapy do to the body?

Why are there only three wavelengths used?
Research that has been done on light therapy has shown benefits with red, blue, and infrared lights.
Are the pads safe to use on animals?
We have received stories and photos of customers using the devices on their animals. InLIght Wellness Systems also builds equine devices.
Do I have to use a specific pad on a specific part of my body?
While some pads are designed to fit certain parts of the body better, any pad can be used on any part of the body. The only exception is is not to use infrared pads directly over the eyes. The eyemask is designed for for use over the eyes and is also beneficial for other uses.
What are the difference between each program setting?
Settings 1-7 increase in frequency in the rate of pulsing in each LED, while programs A, B, ad C are cumulative programs of each frequency.
What makes the ILM irivisium superflux diodes different than other diodes?
Durability, high quality, and level of light output set the irivisium superflux diodes apart from the rest. The LEDs are designed to have a lifetime of 200,000 hours.
How do I use the pads?
It is as simple as placing the pads light side down against the skin of the target area, turning the controller on, and waiting until the session has ended.
What is Light Therapy? What does it do?
Low-level light therapy, or LLLT, increases circulation to reduce pain. It may sound simple, but the act of increasing your circulation supports your innate healing processes. Scientific effects of increased circulation include:
